Family owned for over 15 years, the Golden Lion Cafe has consistently been among the most awarded restaurants in the area, winning 85 "Best Around Awards" from the readers of the Daytona Beach News-Journal. Locals and tourists alike make it a point to stop by the Lion when visiting Flagler Beach. We are a popular destination for family get-togethers, business lunches, holiday parties and even weddings!
We are proud to be situated along the nationally designated Scenic A1A Coastal Highway, as well as a popular viewing spot in the Florida Right Whale Watch Network.
The Golden Lion is open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week from 11am-11pm.
About The Staff:
The Golden Lion boasts an award winning staff hailing from 6 countries and all across the United States. A sampling of our diverse staff includes
- Linda P. holds the distinction of being the longest employed by the Golden Lion as well as a two-term Flagler Beach city commissioner. Martini Night with Linda P., Tuesdays at the Lion, has long been known as the place to be for a mid-week lift.
- Mark W. (aka "TikiTender") comes to us from Kansas City, Missouri and has twice been selected "Bartender Of The Year" by the readers of Backstage Pass Magazine. Many of the most popular drinks at the Lion are his creations. Read his weekly feature Two Guys Walk Into A Bar in the Golden Lion's offical blog, Zeus News.
- David L. is just as likely to be seen on the stage as he is behind the bar. This Georgia native is an accomplished songwriter who has spent time writing songs in Nashville and has recorded a 10-Song CD called Find A Way.
- Jillian S. possesses one of the friendliest smiles on the beach. She is our new server trainer and sports the longest hair of anyone in the area. Think you have her beat? Come on in and prove it for a free Golden Lion t-shirt!
- Chris M. is another music talent, playing lead guitar for the local band Cadmian. He too is known for his impressive head of hair, as well as his mother's good looks.
